Carmela "Millie" Chipperfield, 93, entered eternal rest on January 17, 2026, at her residence. Born in Reading, PA on November 9, 1932, she was 1 of 16 children born to the late Giuseppe and Mary (Ianello) Vaccaro.
In addition to her parents, Millie was greeted in heaven by her husband, Morton Chipperfield, her son Dennis Lee Chipperfield, her twin brother Sammy Vaccaro, and siblings Tony Vaccaro, Angelo Vaccaro, Angeline Harris, Clara Ingram, and Josephine Condos.
For nearly fifty years, Millie dedicated herself to her work as a machine operator at Philip Van Heusen, where she served faithfully for 49 1/2 years before enjoying a well-deserved retirement.
A member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Reading, Millie was known for her warm heart and generous spirit. She loved to cook and bake, and she never missed an opportunity to share her treats with the neighborhood kids, always offering cookies and a drink to those playing outside.
Millie adored watching the snow fall, spending time at the “Vaccaro Homestead” bungalow in Temple, and trying her luck at the casinos' slot machines. She had a great sense of humor, loved to talk, and always cared deeply for those around her.
Her loving spirit lives on through her son, David Chipperfield; her brothers, John Vaccaro and Joseph Vaccaro; her sisters, Antoinette Bauer and Jennie Redcay; and her faithful fur baby, Escobar.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at Theo C. Auman Inc., 247 Penn St., Reading, PA 19601.
