Edward "Ed" Knerr Delany, 86, of Wyomissing, PA entered eternal rest on Monday, August 7, 2023, at The Highlands at Wyomissing. Born in Reading, PA on October 20, 1936, he was a son to the late George W. Delany and Virginia G. (Knerr) Delany.
Ed was a U.S Army veteran, earned his Bachelor's degree in finance from Lehigh University and was a member of their Alumni Association (LUAA). He was also a long time member of Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, The Historic Preservation Trust and Christ Episcopal Church.
He began and spent his career in banking; working at various financial institutions throughout the years, retiring as vice president of Hamilton Bank.
Over the course of his life, Ed developed a life-long love of the outdoors, traveling and staying active. He was an avid skier, golfer, tennis player, fisherman and skilled birdwatcher. Ed was humble, fair-minded, intelligent, and treated everyone he knew with the same respect and personal interest. He will be missed by all blessed enough to have known him.
Ed leaves behind several cousins and his special friend Judy Avella Keller to cherish his memory.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, August 24, 2023, from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Theo C. Auman Inc., 247 Penn St., Reading, PA 19601, followed by a memorial service promptly commence at 11:00 AM. Graveside committal will immediately follow at Charles Evans Cemetery, 1119 Centre Ave., Reading, PA 19601.
