She was predeceased by her husband, Marvin G. Getz in 2001. Born in Mackeyville, Clinton County, she was a daughter of the late Harvey A. and Rena Miller.
She graduated from the former West Chester State Teachers College, and worked as a music and English teacher in the former Grill School and Farview School, both in Cumru Township. She also taught private piano lessons and served as a former church organist and piano accompanist.
She is survived by her sons, Stuart C. Getz and his wife, Bonnie, of Seaford, DE, and Mark Getz and his wife, Linda, of Fleetwood. Also surviving is her grandson, Andrew Getz.
