

He was the loving son of Gaston E. and Ollie M. (Terrell) Cannon. Born in Bronx, NY, on April 23, 1966, he was the second child of Gaston and Ollie.
At a very young age, the family moved to Robesonia. As a child, he attended Trinity Lutheran Church and Grade School in Robesonia. For his Secondary Education, he attended and graduated from South Kent Boarding School in South Kent, Ct., and later, a graduate of New York University with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science.
After graduating from NYU, Gene obtained all Security Licenses which entitled the holder to register as a limited representative and sell Mutual Funds, Annuities and Insurance Products.
Gene worked as a Financial Adviser for several Investment Firms that were acquired by Citibank giving him several years of service there; he then transitioned over to JP Morgan Chase.
Gene always stayed busy and active in the community. He attended Madison Ave. Baptist Church, where he served as a night watchman during the winter months. During this time, he was responsible for caring for the homeless to ensure they had a warm and safe place to sleep.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his parents, Gaston and Ollie Cannon of Wyomissing; brother, Larry B. Cannon and his wife, Terri, of Reading; four uncles: York Terrell Jr. and his wife, Nancy; MacArthur Terrell and his wife, DeLois; Doc Cannon and his wife, Barbara; and James Cannon; an aunt, Vernell Cannon; three nephews: Desious, Tristan and Enoch Cannon; three nieces, Ivana, Tavia and Illana Cannon; three grand-nephews and two grand-nieces.
Also surviving is Gene's special friend, Carlena Seabrooks, of Dingmans Ferry.
He is predeceased by paternal grandparents, Tom and Sarah (Larson) Cannon; and maternal grandparents, York Sr. and Lucille (Plenty) Terrell; three uncles: Eddie, Roger and Woodrow Cannon; and two aunts, Bertha (Terrell) Hope and Gracie Terrell.
Going Home Services for Gene will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in Union Baptist Church, 211 Schuylkill Ave., #213, Reading, PA 19601. Family and friends will be received in the church Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
