Eugene Harold Snyder

Eugene is predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Ruth M. Haugh; his second wife of 18 years, Emily G. Martin; and his sister, Mary E. Trayer.

Eugene is lovingly remembered by his sister, Kathleen Lubas, Mt. Penn, PA; his children Susan Myers (Robert) Christine Ardente (Daniel) , Kurt Snyder (Nancy), grandchildren Kimberly Myers Lewis, Dr. Amanda Ardente, Adam Ardente, Luke Snyder; great-granddaughter Madeline Lewis and 5 nieces and nephews.

Born in Reading, PA on February 1, 1929, the first born of Harvey H. Snyder and Grace Catharine Richard Snyder He graduated from Reading High School in 1946 earning a degree from Albright College in 1952. He then attended Westminster Theological Seminary, where he graduated in 1956 and was ordained. Served churches in MD and PA from 1949 - 1998.

He was a member of Sincerity Lodge No. 181 AF&AM, MD and was a 32nd degree Mason. People will miss his singing in church and his sense of humor. The celebration of Eugene’s life will be held at First United Church of Christ on Friday, December 16, beginning with visitation at 10 AM and the service at 11 AM. A luncheon will follow at the church. The Reverends Rachel Schwab and Anna Thompson are the officiants. Inurnment will take place at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading, PA at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Thornwald Home Benevolent Fund, the UCC Homes Auxiliary or to the American Lung Association.
