

Karen was born October 11, 1942 in West Homestead, PA, she was a daughter of Anthony F. and Helen G. Pochatco Santoro.
Karen was the first graduating class at Thomas Jefferson High School, Clairton in 1960. Following graduation, she went to Pittsburgh Beauty Academy and was employed as a beautician in many Pittsburgh area department stores.
In her leisure, she enjoyed the arts and was quite skilled with beadwork. Karen collected hot air balloons and teddy bears. She took pleasure in decorating her monthly themed ornamental tree.
Karen was friendly with everyone and would do anything for those she loved. She had a unique sense of humor and will be dearly missed.
Surviving are three siblings: Mary Ellen Santoro Beron and her husband, Albert J. of Oviedo, FL, Michael A. Santoro, Sr. and his wife, Jean of Orlando, FL, and Andrea F. Santoro Borger of Clearfield and her fiancé, William "Ned" E. Gunter of Black Moshannon.
Also surviving is Karen's special friend, Eddie; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Karen is predeceased by her sister: Paulette T. Santoro Hodge and her late husband, David W. Hodge; brother in law: Gregg M. Borger and nephew: Gregg L. Borger.
Services for Karen are private and at the convenience of the family. Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, Reading is entrusted with Karen's arrangements.
