Joan Elaine Erb

Joan Elaine Erb, 83, passed away on January 17, 2026, at her daughter’s home. Born in Pottstown, PA on May 14, 1942, she was a daughter to the late Joseph Earl Opperman and Florence Marie (Kirkner) Opperman.

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her her husband, Charles R. Erb Sr. and her sister, Mildred M. Hoff.

She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Kathleen Eck, and her husband, Richard, her son, Charles R. Erb Jr., her brothers, Richard, Terry and Keith Opperman, granddaughter Michelle Budrow and three great grandchildren.

For more than 35 years, Joan worked as a knitter at Yocum Knitting Mill in Stowe, until her well-deserved retirement.

Joan loved diving into romance novels, playing gin rummy and other card games, going bowling, and enjoying the outdoors while camping. She was known for her sass and her honesty but also had a kind side to her.

Services will be private and held at the discretion of Joan's family.
