Joan Dorothy (Rock) George, 85, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away on December 14, 2025, at Reading Hospital. Born in Reading, PA on July 10, 1940, she was the only daughter to the late Clifford J. Rock and Laura I. (Ferryman) Rock. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Larry George and by her brothers, William J. Rock and Donald M. Rock.
Joan was a homemaker with a knack for fun. She could turn a bouquet, fresh or artificial, into a masterpiece, toss a bean bag like a pro, and hit a dart bullseye without breaking a sweat. But her true superpower was making everyone around her smile and laugh. She had a talent for photobombing pictures at just the right moment with perfectly timed gestures and funny faces.
Everyone agreed Joan was the epitome of politeness, and she truly lived up to that reputation. Her kindness and courtesy were second nature, whether she was greeting friends, family, or even strangers. Paired with her loving nature and endless charm, she had a rare gift for making everyone feel valued and special.
Joan’s spirit will live on through her children, Cindy R. Trievel, Michael A. George, and Jennifer M. Rahn and her husband Michael, her grandchildren, Justin R. Wolf, Jared R. Wolf, Andrew J. Rahn, and Jayson M. Rahn, and her great-grandchildren, Jaden Wolf, Jude Wolf, and Jax Wolf, who all carry a bit of her sparkle.
A graveside service will be held at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W. Neversink Road, Reading, PA 19606, on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 12:00 pm, with Sheryl Manzella officiating.
