

John "Jack" G. Dunkelberger, 84, of Mohrsville, passed away in the Kutztown Manor on Sunday, July 5, 2015. He was the loving husband of the late Mary Jane (Montz) Dunkelberger. Sadly, she passed away on January 26, 1996.
Born in Lehighton on July 6, 1930, he was a son of the late Paul and Mary (Shultz) Dunkelberger.
He was a 1948 Reading High School graduate. Jack was a longtime member of Calvary United Church of Christ. He was a US Army veteran and served during the Korean Conflict. When Jack returned from active duty, he became an engineer with Carpenter Tech for 26 years before he retired in 1992. He was also known as an avid golfer.
Surviving are two sons, John Valore and his wife, Catherine, of Renovo and Alan Dunkelberger and his wife, Trina, of Mohrsville; a daughter, Patricia (Valore) Wilson of Reading; 7 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Mary Jane, Jack is predeceased by a brother, Clifford A. Dunkelberger, and two sisters, Mary Jane (Dunkelberger) Einsel and Thelma (Dunkelberger) Stamm.
Services for Jack will be Monday, July 13, 2015, at 12 p.m. in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reiffton. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Jack will be laid to rest next to Mary Jane in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
