

Larry Lamont Lucas, 72, of Reiffton, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, May 16, 2015. Born in Coaldale on February 6, 1943, he was the biological son of the late Clarence Inman Lucas and Theresa Marie Kervesky.
He attended Exeter High School and was very active in athletics. Larry enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served stateside during the Vietnam War. After he was honorably discharged, he took employment with Met-Ed as a heavy machine operator until he retired. He was a member of the Reiffton Fire Company, the American Legion of Longneck, DE and the Daniel Boone Gun Club. Larry enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He spent countless hours on the ocean and bays of Rehoboth, DE. He loved to ride his motorcycle and listen to country music. He was very interested in Native Americans and collected many pieces over the years. Friends meant the world to Larry and he tried to never miss the monthly Tuesday breakfast meetup at McDonald’s with his buddies from his graduating class. Above all else, Larry loved to spend time with his family and friends. His sense of humor and free-spirited nature brought joy and laughter to all who knew him.
Surviving are his two daughters, Lori C. (Lucas) Snyder and her husband, Bobby of Lewis Center, OH and Andrea C. Lucas of Fort Collins, CO; his father William N. Yoder of Charleston, SC and seven grandchildren, Alyssa, Nicholas, Will, Drew, Julia, Reed and Bryce. Also surviving are three brothers, Bill Yoder and his wife, Teresa, Clarence Lucas and his wife, Linda and Gordon Lucas and his wife, Bonnie; four sisters, Kay (Lucas) Gursky and her husband, Albert, Clara (Feist) Koch and her husband, Paul, Susan (Yoder) Olson and her husband, Harold and Beth Ann (Yoder) Ashe and her husband, Steve; five nephews, Joey, Eddie, Billy, John and Mike and two nieces, Heather and Missy.
Larry is predeceased by the mothers that raised him, Eva Snyder and Dorothy Yoder and a sister, Terry (Lucas) West.
A funeral service will be Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 2:00pm in Auman’s Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reiffton, PA 19606. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00- 2:00 pm. Burial will follow the service in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Larry’s honor to Exeter Twp. Senior High School Athletics Department, 201 E. 37th St., Reading, PA 19606.
