Louise Ardell Bartholomew, 76, passed away January 6, 2025 at Laurel Manor Healthcare in Stratford, N.J. She was born in Reading on November 21, 1948 a daughter of the late Gustav and Ardele (Weidman) Kielman. Louise was predeceased by her son Scott, age 38, in 2009 and her daughter Lauren, age 4, in 1984.
She spent four years in The Reading High School Marching Band playing flute and graduated from Reading High School in 1966. She enjoyed spelunking with friends in various nearby caves and worked at Ore & Sembower, Willson Goggle Factory, and was an operating room technician at the Reading Hospital.
After moving to Cream Ridge, N.J., and then to Sicklerville, N.J., she worked for school photographer, the Gallagher Insurance, Co., and a bank in Atco, N.J. She was a member at Holy Communion Lutheran Church in Berlin, N.J. and was a fan of the Philadelphia Flyers, the Philadelphia Eagles and NASCAR. With her son Scott, Louise raised several Seeing Eye Dogs from their puppy stage to graduation and placement at The Seeing Eye facility in Morristown N.J.
Surviving is her sister, Gayle C. and her husband William Kaucher, nephew, William Jeffrey and his wife Rachelle Kaucher, great nephew, Liam and great niece, Rozalyn. Louise was also predeceased by her niece, Stephanie Adams.
Services will be Wednesday January 15, 2025 at 11am in Auman's Inc Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd. Reiffton. Burial to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. A viewing will be Wednesday 10-11am in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Seeing Eye Foundation in Louise's name.
