Marie Helen Hill

Mrs. Marie Helen Hill, 90, of Reading, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2014 in ManorCare-Laureldale. She was the loving wife of the late Earl W. Hill. Mr. Hill passed away on February 13, 1982. Born in Reading on May 7, 1924, she was the last surviving child of the late Michael and Theresa (Wagner) Mango.

She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. She attended St. Mark's UCC for many years. Mrs. Hill was an accounting clerk for Dolfin Clothing Corp. and retired there in 1989. She had previously worked for Reading Clothing. Mrs. Hill enjoyed traveling and making candy with the ladies at St. Mark's UCC. She loved to knit and in the past, she knitted the caps and blankets for the babies and children at the Reading Hospital. She was known for her good sense of humor. Mrs. Hill was a member of the Reading Hospital Auxiliary and the Business and Professional Women's Club of Reading.

Surviving is a nephew, Richard J. Markowski and his wife, Beverly A. of West Reading; a niece, Gloria J. Brooks and her husband, George J. of Reading; great-nephew, Kevin M. Brady and his wife, Nancy and their children: Ryan, Lauren, Jacquelen and Morgan of West Trenton, NJ; and great-niece, Lisa Reichelt and her husband, Edward and their children: Lindsey, Chelsey and Ashley of Reading; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. George (Marie) Mango of San Diego, CA. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hill is predeceased by all of her siblings: Rose M. Shay, Helen V. Markowski, Michael Mango and George J. Mango.

A funeral for Mrs. Hill will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2014 in Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading, PA 19601. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Thursday from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Aulenbach's Cemetery, Reading.
