Mary E. Eck Hemmerich

She was the wife of the late Alfred G. Hemmerich. He preceded her in death on August 23, 1997.

Born in West Reading, she was the daughter of the late William T. and Charlotte (Weigle) Eck.

Mary was a 1946 graduate of Wyomissing High School and a 1948 graduate of Harcum Junior College.

She was a member of the Junior League and was very accomplished at cross-stitching. She enjoyed bird watching and loved animals.

Surviving Mary are her two children, William A. Hemmerich of Wilmington, DE and Susan H., wife of William J. Clark Jr., of Smithfield, VA; two grandchildren, Laura Clark of Smithfield, VA and Peter Clark and his wife, Caroline of Johnstown, CO; three great-grandchildren, Brayden, Emma and Noah and her furry companions Max, Maggie and May.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Alfred, Mary is preceded in death on September 2, 2009 by a sister, Charlotte E. Hannan.

Services for Mary are private and at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading.
