

Ruth was a daughter of the late George F. and Arlene E. (Werley) Seaman, as well as a loving Mother, Grandmother and Aunt to all in her family. She was born in Breiningsville, PA, grew up in Laureldale and lived at various locations in Spring Township.
Ruth graduated in 1957 from Muhlenberg High School and began her working career with the former Washington National Bank, Essick and Barr Insurance Company, and Meridian Bank before retiring from Investors Trust Company in 2001.
Ruth’s favorite past times included attending the Reading Symphony Orchestra, birdwatching at Blue Marsh, traveling with friends and bus trips with the Alsace Travel Club. She loved playing her piano, enjoyed going to the movies and cherished her lunch dates with her girlfriends, cousins and family. Ruth was a member of St. John’s Reformed Church, Sinking Spring, singing in the choir, helping out with the monthly newsletter and attending bible study meetings.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Cathleen M., wife of Richard Bitler, and her sons, Stephen J. Lucas, husband of Marian Lucas, and Matthew D. Lucas, all of Spring Township. Grandma Ruthie is survived by her grandsons, Andrew R. Hoover, husband of Rebecca A. Hoover, Denver, PA and Ryan D. Hoover, State College, PA. Aunt Ruth is survived by her niece Christa J. Miller, Birdsboro and her nephew Edward A. Miller, Atlanta, GA. Ruth was predeceased by her younger siblings, her sister Jean E. Miller and her brother George F. Seaman, Jr.
A sincere thank you is extended to all Ruth’s caregivers at Country Meadows Retirement Community as well as at Grane Hospice Care. Your kindness and sincere dedication to Ruth’s care, when she needed it the most, was greatly appreciated by Ruth and her family.
Christian funeral services will be held in Auman’s, Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Road, Reading (Exeter Township), PA on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 11:30 am. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Friends and family will be received on Monday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 am in Auman’s funeral home.
