Samuel “Sam” Lee Beam, 74, of Ruscombmanor Township, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at his home with his beloved wife, Linda Jane (Richardson) Beam, by his side. Sam and Linda were married on July 14, 1973, Bastille Day, and had just celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary.
Born in Reading, PA on November 13, 1951, he was the son of the late Lewis R. and Edith (Seifert) Beam. A proud graduate of Reading High School, Class of 1969, Sam spent many years in management at Bearings, Inc. In 2007, he became the owner and manager of Hess Embroidery & Uniforms LLC.
A lifelong member of his community, Sam was deeply involved in numerous organizations and held many leadership roles throughout his life. He was a 50 year member of Lodge 62 of Free and Accepted Masons of Pennsylvania, District 7. He was also an active member of the Rajah Shrine, where he served as past president and treasurer of the Rajah Shrine Club. Sam especially enjoyed his time as a Shrine Clown, participating in parades and visiting children at the hospital. He was also a past president and life member of the Skyline Drive Corvette Club.
In addition to his Masonic involvement, Sam was past president of the Berks County Genealogical Society, an associate member of the Berks County Police Chiefs Association, and an active supporter of Berks Crime Alert, where he proudly served on the committee. He and Linda were also specialized foster parents for Concern before relocating to Connecticut, opening their home and hearts to children in need.
Sam was known for his quirky and infectious sense of humor. A devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan, he never missed a game and loved sharing that passion with friends and family. He had a true love for travel, especially trips to Ireland, which he visited five times, and Scotland, where he enjoyed exploring the culture and scenery. Sam also treasured dining out with family and friends, valuing the laughter, stories, and time spent together.
In addition to his wife, Linda, Sam is survived by his sons, Michael D. Beam and his wife Robyn, and Robert J. Beam and his wife Bernice; his sister, Dorothy L. Lincoln; seven grandchildren, Katie, Aiden, Lizzie, Collin, Robert, Bob, and Josh; and his nieces, Kristin L. Ellzy, wife of Fred, and Amy L. Anders, wife of Daren.
At this time, no services are scheduled. They will be held at a later date and will be announced once arrangements are finalized. Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Auman’s Inc. Funeral Home.
