Theodore Darnell Miller Sr., 64, of Reading, PA entered eternal rest unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at his residence. Born in Camden, New Jersey on May 22, 1958 he was a son to the late Mildred Miller and Edward Vaughn.
Theodore proudly served in the United States Army, went on to earn an associate's degree in Human Services and Psychology and volunteered his time counseling recovering addicts in his community. He also worked in property management and maintenance.
Theodore's caring and calming spirit was infectiously authentic; he was an articulate man who loved to read, play and teach chess, never shied away from an adventure and could multitask like no other! He saw the world through a unique lens that he graced us with through his art. He was a talented artist who expressed his creativity through drawing and painting. Theodore was a lover of jazz and gospel music, being one with nature, riding his bike, going swimming and had a green thumb and knack for reviving houseplants.
Theodore will be fondly remembered for being a family man, for his incredible sense of humor and for his collection of chess boards. He was a trusted friend, an amazing and present father and grandfather and a confidant to many. He will be sorely missed by all blessed enough to have known him.
Theodore's spirit will be carried on by his 4 adult children Danielle Miller, Cynthia Miller, Simone Miller and Theodore D. Miller Jr.; his 4 siblings Carlette Vaughn, Charise Vaughn, Christine Vaughn and Jeffrey Vaughn. Theodore also leaves behind 7 grandchildren Xavion, Eyvore, Felicity, Dianni, Ameen, Mariah, Marcus; his longtime best friend Alice Williams and several other children and grandchildren that he considered his own to cherish his memory.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, May 22, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Theo C. Auman Inc., 247 Penn Street, Reading, PA 19601, followed by a prayers & memory sharing from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.TheoCAuman.com for the Miller family.
