Vida A. Hess

Mrs. Vida A. Hess, 86, of Stowe, passed away on Friday, Jan. 24, in Manor Care, Pottstown. She was the loving wife of Caleb G. Hess. They were married in Barnesville on Dec. 21, 1946. She was a seamstress for the former Pomponio Sewing Company, Pottstown, for over 25 years before retiring in 1987. She was born in Tamaqua. She was a daughter of the late Charles and Elda (Whestone) Wagner.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Sherran E. Bauer of Birdsboro and Susan V. Colon of Stowe; five grandchildren, Wendy Griffith, David Conley, and his wife, Angela, Juanita Colon, Sherry, wife of Thomas Oboril, and Jacob Bauer, and his wife, Victoria; 16 great-grandchildren, Jason Simmons, Brittany Griffith, Joshua Hux, Nicholas Hux, Jacob Bauer,Jr., Drake Bauer, Katie Bauer, Kayla Bauer, Michael Colon, Tiffany Aumiller, Kendra Aumiller, Russell Conley, Amelia Conley, Tabitha Conley, Gregory Oboril and Savannah Walters; and a sister, Bertline "Bertie" Bachert of Lansford.She was also predeceased by two daughters, Lorraine Hess and Baby Girl Hess; and a sister, Alice Taiko.
