Edward Vernon McClure

Ed was born on May 17, 1939, in Cottonwood California. Ed grew up in Cottonwood and graduated from Anderson High School. Upon graduation from High School, Ed enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served until 1962. After returning to Cottonwood, Ed went to work for the USDA, Forest Service as an airplane mechanic. Ed retired from the U.S. Forest Service in 1994 with 30 years of service.

Ed was an avid tennis player at Sun Oaks and made many friends during his weekly tennis matches. Ed and Ricki spent many weekends enjoying their property at Whitmore and traveling to the coast. They also enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the family home in McCloud.

Ed is survived by wife Ricki Tolosano McClure, his daughter's Nancy Walker (Lonnie), Michelle Frisbie (Danny) and Lisa Gipson (David; his brother Robert McClure (Karen), his sister Cathy, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Ed is also survived by his in-laws, Peter and Diane Tolosano, Janis Whitacre and Vicki and Ray Rogers.

Ed is pre-deceased by his parents Hugh and Buelah McClure, his beloved son Casey, brother Donald, sister Beverly and brother-in-law Charlie Whitacre.

There will be a celebration of Life for Ed from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the Cottonwood Community Center and Park, located at 20595 Gaspoint Road, Cottonwood, CA. Please join us for lunch and share your favorite memory of Ed.
