Mark was born in Chico, CA, to Fulmer Lea and Claudia Beth Birch. They moved to Redding soon after, and Mark became a lifelong resident.
Mark left high school and joined his father at work in a local automotive machine shop. Working over 45 years in the trade, Mark established a reputation for himself as a master automotive machinist, engine builder, car guru, and fixture in the local racing scene.
Mark loved playing and collecting guitars, cooking and baking, and dining out with family and friends.
Mark is survived by his mother, Claudia Beth Machen, sister, Lee Ann Drummond (James), and devoted sons, Casey Scott Doyle (Tricia) and Tucker Lee Birch.
