

David and wife Roxanne of Redding California, Michael and Laurie of McKinleyville California, and daughter Irene Brown of Redding California. He is also survived by four grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He grew up in Cobden Illinois with his sister Barbara during the Depression. He moved to California where he graduated from Willits High School in 1949. While visiting relatives back in Illinois he met his wife to be, working as a waitress. He joined the army in 1951 and he and Kathryn were married August 16th, 1952. He was then deployed to serve in the Korean War as an engineer. After his discharge he served in the National Guard. He and Kathryn moved to Arcata California where he became a truck driver and then went to work as a mechanic for Foster Dredge. He injured his back which led him to a career in auto body repair and auto mechanics. He retired and moved to Shingletown California where he resumed working for Six Pack construction, Miller Brothers Construction and Stimpel Wiebelhaus and Associates as a truck mechanic. Jack worked into his 80s. He also enjoy traveling with Kathryn and their cats in their motorhome to Arizona during the winter for over 20 years. During the final years of his life he enjoyed beer, fishing and gambling. He passed away at his home peacefully with family by his side. A celebration of life will be held at Dave and Roxanne's house at 4542 Hardwood Boulevard in the Redwood Mobile Home Park.
