Jay is survived by his wife, Linda Ginger; daughters Jennifer Holden and Jessica Ginger; sons Justin Ginger and Jared Ginger; grandchildren David Holden and Sydnee Holden; mother Helen Ginger; brothers Cliff Ginger and Jeff Ginger; sister Jill Ginger; nephew Jason Ginger. Jay is predeceased by his father John Ginger and sister Jody Ginger.
Jay was born in Spencer, Iowa where he quickly showed everyone he could fix anything. He was telling his father how to fix the car before he was old enough to drive. He worked in Nascar for Bobbie Minthorn, building, rebuilding and painting the race car. It's no surprise that he became a mechanic for over 3 decades before he lived out his dream of starting his own business, opening and owning Jack's Small Engine in Redding, CA for 12 years.
After declining health, he received a double lung transplant on 07/10/03. In the last 12 years, he accomplished so much; he built a house, fully restored a 65 Mustang and went on many adventures with his family. His wonderful family values, talkative nature and lighthearted sense of humor will be greatly missed by his family.
A celebration of life will be held at Lawncrest Chapel on Saturday, July 25th at 1:00pm.
