

Born on September 19, 1935, in Wichita, Kansas where he soon moved to Hollywood, attended and graduated from Hollywood high. He then meet his soon to be bride in 1955 at a speed skating event. He was an avid cyclist & speed skater. He won numerous cycling and speed skating championships and in 1960 even went to the Olympic trials for cycling.
Kip spent 18 yrs owning a successful Schwinn bike shop called Kip's Bike Shop in Glendora, Ca. In 1975 opened up Reno, Nevada's first Schwinn Bike Shop. Moved to Carson City in 1979 where he planned to retire. In 1985 moved to Redding, California and opened up Redding's first Subway sandwich shop. He then went on to open up a total of 8 Subways in Shasta County. He retired as a top franchisee in 2012 after opening a total of 18 Subways from Willows, California to Shasta Lake City, California.
He has been instrumental in many fundraisers for many of the local schools. He was very generous in giving back to his community. Charitable donations included Make a Wish, 3 on 3, Cancer Society, Heart Association and many more. He was heavily involved in sponsoring the Redding Rodeo and many many more local events.
He is survived by his wife Judy, 4 children Tara, Tad, Tina (spouse Tim) & Tyree (spouse Travis), 3 grandchildren Jake, Justin & Tayton, 3 Great Grandchildren Kyler, Rylee & Timmy.
He will be welcomed in heaven by his deceased granddaughter Krysta.
Services will be held next sat 9/26/15 at 1:00 at Red Lion Hotel 1830 Hilltop Dr Redding, Ca (in the Sierra room).
