

August 19,1937 – March 11, 2015
Monroe passed from this life into Heaven on March 11. We will miss him greatly but we rejoice in the fact that he is now with his Heavenly Father.
He was born in Killeen, Texas and lived in Texas until he joined the United States Air Force when he was 17. He was stationed at McCord Air Base in Tacoma Washington where he met his wife Jackie. They were married in 1959 and were married for over 55 years.
He is survived by his wife Jackie and his children Mike and Denise Broadway, Sharon and Bob Phillips and Carol and Dave Williams. Survived by 13 grandchildren, listed in birth order- Tim, Eric, Tad, Charise, Sarah, Haley, Bekah, Melissa, Nate, Essie, Kaitlyn, Jessie and Jamin, and great-grandchildren Copper, Finn, Kingston and Mackenly. He was preceded in death by grandson Joseph. He is also survived by his sister Joyce Moon and her husband Don and his brother Richard Broadway and his wife Jackie.
He served as a Southern Baptist pastor in Texas, Arizona and Washington but he was a pastor in Redding for approximately 30 years. He also served as a volunteer Police Chaplain for the Redding Police Department for several years.
He was a loving Husband, Dad, Papa and friend. He loved introducing people to Jesus at home and abroad.
There will be a viewing held at Lawncrest Chapel on Wednesday, March 18 between 2 and 5 PM.
A memorial service will be held at Lawncrest Chapel on Thursday, March 19, at 1:00 PM. There will also be a Celebration of Life, later that afternoon, at 3:30 PM at Faith Community Church located at 1770 Pleasant Street (at the corner of Placer and Pleasant).
