Lucy Marie Manetta was born in Herstal Leige, Belgium on October 9, 1929 to Henri and Margaret Simon. She passed away peacefully in Livonia, Michigan on August 11, 2019 at the age pf 89. Lucy was under the gentle care of Angela Hospice.
Lucy was the beloved wife of the late Ollie Manetta. Loving mother of Henry (Dau) Manetta, Jimmy (Cindy) Manetta, Lucy (Ron) Medley and Anthony (Jackie) Manetta. Dear grandma of 14. Lucy also leaves behind many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister Marette, and her grandson James.
Lucy was an Inspector at Master Automatic in Redford, Michigan for over 30 years. She was a devout Catholic who loved to say the Rosary. Lucy had an extensive collection of rosaries and placed them all over her house. She also loved to crochet and knit. Pretty much everyone in the family has one of her blankets, scarves, or table cloths. She would also make her own version of the Cabbage Patch doll. However, her passion was her family. She simply loved to be a wife, mom, and grandma. Lucy had a kind and loving heart. She will be deeply missed by everyone that knew her.
Lucy was laid to rest with her husband in Detroit Memorial Park West Cemetery. Her life will be celebrated with a graveside committal service on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 12:00pm. The committal service will be led by Deacon Tim Pilon of Holy Family Catholic Church.
