Dorothy Anderson

Dorothy Florence Anderson (nee Finkel) of Detroit, Michigan was born to her late parents Floyd and Lydia Finkel on June 1, 1927. Dorothy passed away at the age of 93 on August 10, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Ralph Anderson. Proud mother of Ruth Tussey, Earl Anderson and the late Linda Weeks. Dear grandmother of 8, great grandmother of 22 and great-great grandmother of 4. Dearest sister of the late Norman and Virginia Finkel, Esther (Terry) Lobur and Donald (Linda) Finkel. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was a devoted member of Grace Lutheran Church for 57 years in Redford, Michigan. She enjoyed her church community and raised her children in the congregation as well. She was the best wife and mother, she took great care of her husband and children and was the matriarch of her family. Dorothy enjoyed the family cottage in Milford where her and the family would spend many summers. She worked as a CNA at a nursing home in Livonia until she retired. She will be deeply missed by her family and church community.

A visitation for Dorothy will be held Sunday, August 16, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harry J Will Funeral Home in Redford. A funeral in state will occur Monday, August 17, 2020 from 10:30 AM until time of service at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Dorothy will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Glen Eden Lutheran Memorial Park Cemetery in Livonia.
