John Wayne Davis was born March 19, 1949 in Jackson, Michigan to Wilbur Davis and Ellen Straub. He was one of 4 children. John passed away suddenly in Toledo, Ohio on February 22, 2019 at the age of 69.
John was the beloved brother of William (Dawn) Davis, and Patti (Don) Berry. Dear half-brother of Karen (Russell) Nelson, Michael (Bobbie) Davis, Shelley (the late Chris) Bentley and David Davis and brother-in-law Steve (Gale) Nicolas. John will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents Wilbur Davis and Ellen Straub, wife Debbie, his brother James Davis, brother-in-law Bob Frost, his sister-in-law Terry Davis, his brother-in-law Chris Bentley.
John was a Hi-Lo Driver for Chrysler Corp for over 30 years until he retired. He had a second career for 17 years working for Safeguard Security in Toledo, Ohio. John was a proud Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam era in Germany working as a medic. He enjoyed playing video games, and fishing. He had a passion for NASCAR and classic cars. He was restoring a 1966 Thunderbird that he loved.
John's family will receive friends for a Visitation on Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 25450 Plymouth Road, Redford Township, Michigan 48239 (just east of Beech Daly). The evening will conclude with a funeral service to celebrate John's life. Following the funeral, John's military service will be honored with a flag presentation given by the United States Army Funeral Honors Team.
John will be privately laid to rest with his beloved wife in Woodmere Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan.
