Nicholas R. Palise III, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 28, 1940, in Dearborn, Michigan, to Nick and Mary (Scruto) Palise.
Nicholas was a man of many passions and talents. From a young age, he had a deep love for hockey, a passion that stayed with him throughout his life up to the age of 79, bringing him joy even in his later years. He served his country with honor, demonstrating his bravery and skill as a sharpshooter. His dedication to his country continued through his membership in the NRA, where he found community and purpose. Nicholas was also a local locksmith he owned Nick's Quick Key Shoppe for thirty plus years.
An avid traveler, Nicholas cherished the adventures he shared with his wife Sharon, exploring destinations such as Panama City Beach, FL, and New Orleans, LA. He found immense joy in experiencing new places and cultures alongside his beloved partner.
Nicholas had a profound appreciation for the art of cinema, with a particular fondness for older films like "The Perfect Furlough". He could often be found enjoying a movie, appreciating the storytelling and craftsmanship of classic cinema.
Above all else, Nicholas treasured his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, finding the greatest fulfillment in the time spent with his loved ones. His fur baby, Ginger Leigh, a Norfolk Terrier, brought him immeasurable joy and companionship.
Nicholas is survived by his loving wife and partner in adventure Sharon Palise, his three children, Kim Palise, Lisa Gardzinski, and Nicholas Palise, along with eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Three brothers Roy Palise, Ray Monberg, and Paul (Patty) Monberg and sister Jackie (Mitch) Palise-Park. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched.
A funeral visitation for Nick will be held Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harry J Will Funeral Homes, 25450 Plymouth Rd., Redford, Michigan 48239. A funeral service will occur Friday, April 19, 2024 at 12:00 PM, 25450 Plymouth Rd., Redford, Michigan 48239. Graveside prayers with military honors will occur Friday, April 19, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Mt. Kelly Cemetery, 23250 Cherry Hill St, Dearborn, MI 48124.
