

Linderman, Richard “Dick” Calvin, of Dearborn, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2021. He was born December 5, 1926, to the late Richard A. and Waive M. (nee Ruff) Linderman in Wayne, MI. His loving wife of 71 years, Dorothy “Jeri”, nee Spradling, survives him. They were married October 25, 1950 in Wayne, MI. From this union he became the dear father of Karen Fields (Mark), Janice Hammond, Richard, Carol Mattern (Eric) who also survive him. He will be greatly missed by his eleven grandchildren who he loved unconditionally, Anastasia “Stacy” Michalak (Andrew); Shanna Cayton; Emily Hammond; Ellen DeLaFuente (Anthony); Edward Hammond; Amy Flaisher; Richard Linderman (Michelle); Kaitlyn Gilliam (Sean); Jack, Russell, and Dean Mattern. He leaves 13 great-grandchildren that cherished him as much as he cherished them. He is also survived by many adored nieces and nephews, as well as four first cousins - Shirley Scully Varga, Virginia Britz Giese, Edward Linderman, and Shirley Linderman Pietrzyk.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved brothers - Noble, Wesley (Clarice), and James; his dear son-in-law, Clifford Hammond; many dear aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws.
Richard served his country proudly, joining the U.S. Navy at age 17, serving during WWII, mostly in the South Pacific and then being called again to serve for the Korean War, this time staying stateside in Key West, FL. Between the two wars he started his career with Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan.
He will be interred at Great Lakes National Cemetery, with full military honors, at a later date.
