Norma was born in Woodinville Washington in 1914 to Nils and Rinaug Bonlie and grew up helping take care of the family farm when not in school. Norma liked being outside and active and helped with what ever was needed including at one time starting out at 3:00 in the morning to herd eleven cows with Carl Nelson from Woodinville to Carnation. It took them until 4:00 that afternoon making it a very long day but they were prepared with sandwiches and snacks to share along the way. During school, keeping true to form she loved to dance at every opportunity she could and enjoyed playing baseball, basketball and tennis winning the “Valley Tennis Player” award.
Norma met and married Willard Pearson in Carnation and worked for the Postal Service for 16 years, retiring in 1976. She was sharp, quick witted and honest; she shared a love of steelhead fishing, vegetable gardening, bird watching and later also became a avid golfer. One of Norma's greatest joys was traveling with her friends Leila, Pearl, Freddy and Helen taking in all the courses around that they could and sharing together a special moment in time when Norma brought home a trophy for making a hole in one.
Norma shared her time and talents quilting, making beautiful needlework pieces and crocheting often donating these to the fundraisers held at the Carnation Senior Center where she enjoyed many long lasting friendships and kept active in their exercise programs and you could always count on Norma bidding for her personal favorite, lemon meringue pie.
Norma's husband Willard of 63 years preceded her in passing and is survived by her children William Pearson of Renton, Washington and Patricia Busser of Fall City, Washington, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
