De Andre Myers was born July 26, 1985 in Bellflower, California. He was the son of Christopher Myers and Gina Richee. He was raised in Long Beach, California. Even thou he didn’t have siblings in the home, he spent his younger years with his cousins Valencia and Latoya.
At 3 years old, he started playing video games which became a childhood obsession that he enjoyed until he lost his sight. He matured slowly and developed friendships with Angel and Abraham, who were a few years younger than him. They looked odd together especially since De Andre was tall and Angel was short, which caused Angel to look even younger than he was. In junior high school, he became best friends with Trashawn which lasted a lifetime. He enjoyed skateboarding and playing video games with his friends.
His cousin Valencia had a big influence on his life, and he basically did anything she said and anything for her. He later developed a friendship with Valencia’s brother Demetrius and her boyfriend Terry. They enjoyed going paint balling together.
After graduating from high school, he enrolled in Long Beach City College. He earned a Certificate in Auto Body and Carpentry with the goals of starting his own business. He was employed by the Goodwill and did side jobs for his carpentry instructor.
In 2009, Valencia saved his life by rushing him to the hospital. He was later diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2010. He continued to drive and work until he could no longer see or stand. Eventually he would lose his sight completely and was wheelchair bound.
In 2010, he met Precious and they became lifelong friends. He wanted to be more than friends, however his illness prevented that from happening. He continued to tag along with Valencia and Terry including spending time with their children Ashley, Maya, Terry Jr, Carlie and Kevin. When he could no longer travel, he kept in contact with family and friends through social media and by phone.
He was often visited by Maya, who spent a lot of time caring for him. His cousin LeShannone also enjoyed caring for De Andre when she visited. His Uncle Larry assisted Gina with caring for De Andre until his death.
