

Donna June Yates of Manhattan Beach, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, in Rancho Palos Verdes, surrounded by her family. She was born June 21, 1924, in Redondo Beach, the daughter of the late Lonie A. and Helen C. Dickerson.
June, as she preferred to be called, was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Paul D. Yates, M.D.
She attended Redondo Union High School and graduated from Whittier College with a major in Music and Education.
June actively volunteered in the Redondo Beach Junior Women’s Club, serving as President, District Chairperson and State Chairperson. She was the local and state President for the South Bay Medical Auxiliary and initiated the first free polio clinic in the state of California.
Professionally, June served twenty-three years as office manager for Columbia Artists Management in Hollywood, and Assistant Pacific Coast Manager of Community Concerts, administering 200 local concert associations in the western states and provinces in North America. At the Norris Center for the Performing Arts in Rolling Hills Estates, June was the Pavilion Events Coordinator as well as the Curator for the Norris Upstairs Gallery for over twenty years. Her wish to make a positive impact on the South Bay community continued into her retirement years by serving as a volunteer working with newborn families at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Torrance.
June is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, a grandson and his wife and two great-grandchildren.
Per June’s wishes, no services will be held. Interment by Lighthouse Memorials will be at Pacific Crest Cemetery in Redondo Beach.
