Evelyn Louise Callas

Resident of Redwood City Evelyn Louise passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017. She was 88 years old. Evelyn was born in Napa, California, where she lived until moving to San Francisco in 1946 to pursue a career in modeling. It was there that she met and married her loving husband, William "Bill" Callas, before moving to Redwood City in 1954 where they began raising a large family. Evelyn loved tending to her garden, cooking, sewing, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an active member of the YMCA and enjoyed the activities and friendships she made there. She is survived by her husband, Bill Callas of Redwood City, her devoted children, Christopher Callas, Leslie Callas Baker, Jim Callas, Carolyn Callas, Cathy Callas, her two brothers, James Trood, Allen Trood, her 9 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 18th at 11:00am at Redwood Chapel located in Redwood City.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to one of Evelyn's favorite charities: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Peninsula Humane Society/SPCA in Burlingame.
