She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilberto Menchaca, who passed away in 1972; her father, Leopoldo Salinas; and her mother, Julia Filoteo.
Fidelfa was a strong and independent woman who worked as a field laborer for over 60 years and later worked in maintenance at a packing house for 17 years. She took great pride in her hard work and dedication to her family.
She loved raising canaries and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, especially homemade tortillas, tamales, and menudo. She also enjoyed watching sports, including baseball, football, and basketball.
Fidelfa was very religious and spent much of her time in prayer. She had a strong devotion to St. Jude and the Virgin Mary. She valued her friendships deeply and was blessed with many true friends throughout her life.
She is survived by her four children: Juan Luis Menchaca, Jose Menchaca, Gilberto Menchaca, Jr., and Orfelinda Menchaca. She is also survived by her brothers, Wesceslado Salinas and Vicente Salinas, with whom she shared her home.
Visitation will be held at Dopkins Reedley Funeral Chapel, 2200 S. Reed Ave., Reedley, CA 93654, on March 26, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with the Rosary from 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Isidore the Farmer Church, 480 Adams Ave., Orange Cove, CA 93646, on March 27, 2026, from 9:30 am.
Interment will follow at Smith Mountain Cemetery, 42088 Rd 100, Dinuba, CA 93618
