Alfred was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was predeceased by his parents, Martin and Louise Arendt, in-laws Albert and Betty Lindsey, sister Arlene Arendt, 2 brothers-in-law Eugene Klysko and Arthur Bartlett and two nephews, Timothy Bartlett and Levi Krogsgaard.
Left to mourn are his wife Dorothy, children Jordan and Terri Arendt (Ainsley and Addison), Marielee and Patrick Reddekop (Samuel, Seth and Levi) and Miriam and Sean Berge (Elliot and Meagan); siblings Ruth Bartlett, Betty and Harold Klassen, Hedy Klysko, Lorna and Brian Krogsgaard, Bernie and Gloria Arendt, Ray and Linda Arendt, Rosalyn and Jacob Martens, Myrna and John Zwarich, Wayne and Kim Arendt; sister-in-law Sandra and Bill Hall; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Alfred was born on a farm in the Glenbush area of Saskatchewan, moving to North Battleford as a child where he received his education. His post-secondary education was at Canadian Bible College and the University of Regina. Alfred was a dedicated teacher for 30 years in the Regina Public School system. After retiring in 1999, Alfred spent his time volunteering at Dallas Valley Ranch Camp and on missions trips with Alliance Men. He also worked for Elections Canada during federal elections as a special ballot coordinator. He loved to travel and was a fun loving, competitive person. He loved to spend time with his family camping, fishing and playing games. He was much loved and is already sorely missed.
After suffering a stroke in 2020, and with declining health, Dorothy and Alfred decided to move to Brightwater last year, where they could live together and Alfred could receive the care he needed. Our family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and caregivers at Brightwater, where Alfred received stellar care. A celebration of Alfred's life will take place on July 7th at 11am, at Rosewood Park Alliance Church (1300 North Courtney St, Regina). There will be a streaming option for those unable to attend in person (https://rosewoodpark.ca/). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dallas Valley Ranch Camp or Rosewood Park Alliance Church.
