Alfred passed away peacefully at the Parkside Extendicare Home in Regina, SK on Saturday, May 2, 2020 with family by his side. Alfred emigrated from Germany to Canada in 1949 with his two younger brothers. After living in Manitoba for a short time he moved to Regina, which he made his permanent home. He worked first for Western Tractor and then for IPSCO, where he enjoyed a 30 year career. Predeceased by a brother Walter Besselt in 2018, Alfred is survived by Erna Besselt; Helga and Jeff Eichhorst, Taylor Eichhorst and Brandy Hehn, and Nick Eichhorst all of Regina, Alec Eichhorst and Anna Van Gool of Kelowna, BC; brother Oswald & Helen Besselt of Ontario; as well as friends and relatives in Canada, Germany, and Austria. Alfred loved hunting, fishing, travelling and playing soccer, but especially enjoyed his three grandsons and always took a keen interest in their lives. He will be forever missed by family and friends. The family would like to thank all of the staff for the wonderful treatment he received at the Parkside Extendicare Home. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
