Alice Arndt, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, at the age of 90. She was born on September 11, 1935, in Grenfell, Saskatchewan, to Myrtle and Arthur Pollock.
On October 2, 1957, she married the love of her life, Irvin Arndt. Together they shared 68 years of marriage until Irvin’s passing in March 2026. Their life together was built on love, partnership, and family.
Alice enjoyed a long and varied working life. She was employed at SaskTel, then at Dad’s Cookies for 18 years, and finished her career at Ag Belting. In retirement, she and Irvin spent many happy winters in Arizona and travelled to New Zealand, the Caribbean, and Hawaii. Whether watching her grandchildren or out on the dance floor with Irvin at weekend polka dances, Alice was always surrounded by family and friends.
She was known for her loving presence in the kitchen. Family cherished memories of her making Maw Buns, deviled eggs, and Cozumel Cloud dessert while listening to the flea market and wondering what her next purchase would be. Her cooking brought people together and created lasting traditions.
Alice is survived by her three children: stepson Dennis Arndt of Vancouver, BC; daughter Shelly Steinhubl (William) of Pasqua Lake, SK; and son Scott Arndt of Regina, SK. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Kylie Steinhubl, Rebecca Lipinski (Landon), Jade Grad-Arndt (Ashton and his son Cohen), and Ella Grad-Arndt (Arnau), as well as her six great-grandchildren Tyson, Ava Jean, Gabriel, Vyola, Thomas, and Grey; and her sister-in-law Jean Pollock of Trail, BC.
A private interment will be held at a later date, where she will be laid to rest with her husband. Special thanks to the staff at RGH-ER, Saskatoon RUH, and Palliative Care at Pasqua Hospital.
Alice’s loving heart and the joy she brought to so many will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
