Amanda Dawn Stonechild

It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our dear Amanda Dawn Stonechild, who’s spirit name is ‘Wâpanacâhkos Iskwêw,’ which translates to ‘Morning Star Woman,’ who began her spiritual journey on Monday, May 23, 2022.

Amanda is survived by her daughter Mikayla Shayla Rae McNab; siblings David Standingready-Acoose, Tracey Shore, Drake Stonechild, Gordon Stonechild, and Colin Stonechild; her Kokum Lorna J. Standingready-Acoose; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents Margaret Stonechild, and Victor Daniels; maternal grandfather Herman Standingready; parents Denise Standingready, and Drake Stonechild Sr.; brothers Tyrone Southwind, Derek Stonechild, and her sister Noralee Nicole Standingready.

A Memorial Service will be held at Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK on Sunday, May 29, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Wake will be at Whitebear Community Hall on Monday, May 30, 2022 at Whitebear First Nations. A Funeral Service will take place at the Whitebear Community Hall on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. with an interment to follow at Bigstone Cemetery. Amanda will be laid to rest near her mother Denise M. Standingready, and sister NoraLee Nicole Standingready.
