It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of our beloved mother, Anna Pinkney. She is predeceased by her parents Albert Schmitz and Elizabeth Hassler; her dear husband Harvey; and sister Louise Izsak. Anna is survived by her daughter Shannon West (Chris); son Todd Pinkney(Crystal); grandchildren Josie, Holden and Carter West. She is also survived by her siblings Leona Kelln, Ted Schmitz (Ethel), Joan Hengen (John), Verna Paslawski (Frank) Arnold Schmitz, Marie Drew, Fr. Albert Schmitz, Joe Schmitz (Barbara), and Wayne Schmitz (Clarice).
Anna worked for the City of Regina legal department until her retirement, and then enjoyed vacations to Vegas, Hawaii, California, and to see her grandchildren in Victoria BC. She loved Harvey with all her heart and they did everything together including going to Rider games, the casino, and visiting family all over western Canada. She was blessed with many friends, including a special group of women who called themselves the Super Seven. She enjoyed playing cards, going to the movies, and having lunch with her many friends.
Anna had many health problems, but stayed upbeat through it all. She was strong and resilient. She was truly a remarkable woman and will be missed and remembered fondly.
Donations in her honour would be most welcome to the Kidney Foundation, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or Autism Canada.
