Christopher Michael Martin

5 October, 19918 April, 2021

Christopher Martin, much-loved son of Walter Martin and Joanne Shurvin-Martin and brother of Nicole (Cam) and Victoria (Arin) died suddenly on April 8, 2021 in Regina. He was 29.

Chris was born in Regina and attended St. Angela and Riffel. He was active in Scouts and 155 Army Cadets. After graduating high school he served in the Royal Regina Rifles (army reserve) for several years. Chris was a quiet young man who loved his two dogs and enjoyed being outdoors and self-described nerdy activities like building and painting scale models, playing video games, and watching movies.

Several individuals have received another chance for a healthy life through organ donations from Chris. No funeral is planned. Chris will be well remembered and sadly missed.

Cpl Martin gave me the shirt off his back once.

It was a cold Saskatchewan winter and I was a young, nieve Rifleman with the Royal Regina Rifles. We were on an exercise and I did not pack appropriately. I did not know Chris well. I couldn't even say we were friends. But he quite literally gave me the shirt off his back.

It's an action I've never forgotten and something I've tried to pass forward ever since.
