It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dave, Monday, October 14, 2019. He is predeceased by his parents, Maida and Charlie Ward; his sister Sheila; his brother Jim; and his brothers-in-law Patrick Pettit and Jim Look. He is survived by his wife Debbie, son Adam (Raelene), daughters Kenda (James) and Stephanie (Jason), grandchildren Meika, Rory, Lily and Penny, as well as many cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved very dearly. Dave was born August 9, 1941, in Toronto, Ontario. His family moved back to Saskatchewan when he was very young, and he spent his childhood between Regina and Christopher Lake. He held many interesting jobs throughout his life, being a radio DJ, a sports reporter for the Leader Post, working for Northern Telecom, owning a small business, driving school bus, and finally as a financial advisor. While his work life kept him busy, he was most passionate about his family. Whether he was coaching his kids’ sports, attending a performance, or just being the chauffeur getting the kids where they needed to go, he loved being a part of his kids’ life. Dave had a stroke in 2011, and though it was greatly debilitating, he never lost his passion for family, and helping kids in general. He loved volunteering at Sacred Heart Community School, reading with younger students. His family would like to thank the staff of the Medical Surveillance Unit, at Regina Pasqua Hospital, for the amazing care provided in Dave’s last days. Special thanks to Dr. Lyster and Nurse Amanda for their dedication and family support.
A funeral service will be held at St. Anne’s Parish, 1601 Cowan Cr, Saturday, October 19, at 1:00pm. Funeral arrangements made by Lee Funeral Home.
Flowers gratefully declined; those wishing to make a memorial donation in Dave’s name are invited make a donation to Sacred Heart Community School.
