Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Donna had a deep passion for life and the people she loved most. At the age of 52, she was diagnosed with kidney failure and spent the next 16 years on dialysis. Through every challenge, Donna continued to make the most of life with strength, resilience, and determination.
Donna treasured her family above all else. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and created many cherished memories with them throughout the years. In 2012, Donna moved to Edmonton, Alberta, where she found joy in the beauty of the Rocky Mountains and the life she built there.
Donna is lovingly survived by her daughter, Dody; her grandsons, Taylor, Tylinn, Brooklyn, and Morgan; her son, Herb (Shelley); her sisters, Shelley (Lonny) and Glenace (Darcy); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends.
She was predeceased by her mother, Amelia IronEagle (Alexson); her father, George Alexson; her sisters, Joan and Marlene; her brothers, Kenneth, Robert, and Clement; and her adopted daughter, Jasmine.
A memorial service will be held at Dignity Memorial Funeral Home, 2080 Victoria Avenue, Regina, Saskatchewan, at 11:00 a.m., followed by travel to her final resting place at Kahkewistahaw Cemetery in Broadview, Saskatchewan.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Unit 5C3 at the University of Alberta Hospital for the compassionate care they provided Donna over the past six months.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation in Donna’s memory.
Donna will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her strength, love, and the joy she brought to those around her.
