October 3, 1964- August 18, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Doug Lang on August 18th, 2025 at the age of 60. Doug was predeceased by parents William and Jeanette Lang (Hain). He is survived by children Trevor Lang and Robyn Lang (Aaron Boudreau); siblings Gary Lang, Laverne (Ralph) Rathgeber, Karen (Murray) Slack; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Doug was born on October 3rd, 1964 in Melville, SK, and grew up on the family farm near Waldron. He attended school in Waldron until the 6th grade and completed 7-12 in Melville.
Doug had many professions over the years, including commercial truck driver, salesman, farm hand, running the Waldron Hotel, and professional storyteller. He always had time for a chat or a phone call, no matter what the task at hand was.
Doug relocated to Pilot Butte and began driving truck in 1996 for Federated Co-op in Regina. That was where he found his true calling, behind the wheel of the truck. He spent 29 years on the road for various companies hauling many different types of freight across Canada and the United States. It was in 2010, when he began driving for John Deere that he found his forever job. Almost 15 years, and 3 million kilometers later, he always looked forward to heading back out on another run.
Doug had many passions for recreational activities, including camping, fishing, snowmobiling, sports, demolition derby, and family vacations. Anyone that knew him knows that he loved a good party. Whether it was a birthday, anniversary, or for no reason at all, he loved to be around friends and family having a good time. One of the things he cherished most of all, was spending time with his lake family. As he would always say, "We cook a big ugly meal, eat way too much and have a soda or three afterwards"
He will be forever "Livin' the Dream"
Celebration of life will be held on September 20th, 2025 at the DoubleTree by Hilton, 1975 Broad Street, Regina, SK
