It was with much sincere sadness that I only just learned of Doug's passing. Wish we could have spent more time talking and laughing. Miss you Doug.

It is a shock to learn of Doug's passing. I last saw him over coffee and as usual he shared his marvellous take on things, particularly on investing. He was a pro, a delightful colleague and despite his quiet demeanour possessed a splendid sense of humour. He told me a joke 15 years ago that still makes me laugh thinking about. I, among many, will miss this good man. To the family please accept my condolences.

I am deeply saddened to hear this news, of which I only learned about yesterday (June 28).  Of Doug I can say that without his tremendous knowledge and guidance about both the medical system and the financial system, my Dad would have died a painful death from cancer in a home care facility and we, as a family, would have been financially and emotionally unprepared to deal with the estate matters and his health crisis. Because of Doug's guidance, we experienced first-hand how important it is to deal with the difficult but crucial decisions at such time - that being prepared in advance is the most loving action we can take towards protecting our loved ones.  I cannot say enough about how Doug's responsible head-on approach allowed for the most dignified farewell to my own father's death, and how Doug made it possible for my Dad to experience his last months as joyful and pain free with full victory.  With such sorrow and eternal gratitude, I must say farewell but please know that your protective guidance in our lives shall forever be profoundly missed...God Bless You, Doug.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Dougs passing as he was a friend and collegue of mine for many years. He left me with many fond memories from our days at CHAB and CBC. When I think of his quick wit and dry sense of humour it still puts a smile on my face, as he lifted my spirit many times when I felt I was in dire straits.

I'm truly saddened to hear of Doug's passing. I enjoyed working with him and still remember the fun we had when he was on shift even though it's been too many years ago.

My memories of Doug go back mostly to 1970/1971 while working with him at CBC Television Moose Jaw.  I remember Doug as a very private but also very caring and interesting person.  I remember fondly some of the great and spirited discussions we had during the year I worked with him.  We meet so many people during our years.  Each different and distinct from one another and our lives are shaped in some way by all we meet.  It was a pleasure to have known Doug, even in a small way.  So sorry his life was cut short at 66.  We wish the family well at this sad time.

I was saddened to hear of Doug's passing.  I did not know Doug extremely well but we did have some interesting conversations  in our retirement years on subjects dear to both of us.  A very private man, the world has lost a very caring soul.

I worked with Doug at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation for many years.  He had great knowledge in financial matters and cared so much for people he met, old friends and new alike.  Although Doug struggled with health issues, he never allowed that to slow him down, and was always eager to help others.  I will always remember our discussions, coffee sessions and his advice on so many issues.  Doug was one of the most generous and caring people I have ever met, and my family and I will miss him greatly.  I take comfort in knowing that heaven now has special angel in Doug. We will love you and miss you always - you really were a wonderful person.
