Ethel Jean Dove

Born on March 26, 1918 at Lorlie, SK and passed away on December 4, 2012. Predeceased by her husband John in 1981 and her parents, Katharine Karrel (Graham) and Archibald Weston, as well as her sister Helen Conlan and brother Douglas Weston. Ethel is survived by her sons Graham (Kathleen Slavin) and Randy (Judy) as well as grandchildren Bridget (Bruce) Shannon-Wobeser and Tim (Laurie) Shannon as well as great-grandchildren Alan and Lila. She is also survived by her sister Georgina Davidson, brothers Donald (Alma) Weston and Garfield (Norma) Weston, sister-in-law Beverley Weston, their children and grandchildren. She is also remembered by her good friend Eva McMillan who visited her frequently for many years. Mom took great pride in her family, her membership at First Baptist Church and her independence during her life. She was known as a person with determination whether that be learning to use a computer as a senior, tackling gardening, her annual visits to the skating rink to impress her boys or her desire to try new recipes, in her kitchen, which was the centre of her home for many years. Mom worked for many years for several small businesses in accounting where her attention to detail was held in high esteem. Special thanks for the care that was provided by Dr. Warden, the staff at the Royal Oaks Care Home and the Cupar and District Nursing Home. In accordance with Ethel’s wishes, a private family graveside service will be held at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. Flowers are graciously declined.
