My sincere condolences to the friends and family of Ethyl Sulea.  I knew her as a lovely artist, a member of the Valley Arts Club.
I met Ethyl when I went to Dysart to ask her to paint me a picture of the beautiful grounds at Fort San.  At the time Aurèle and I lived on the grounds there at the San. (Echo Valley Centre). I brought her a photo I had taken.
Ethyl went to work  and called me a few months later when she had finished the painting. I went to her house and paid her for the custom  painting.  It certainly surprised me!. 
I had brought a photo of the San grounds with me. Instead of a painting of the grounds as they were in 1979- 1980,  she had painted a picture of what the grounds would look like today . .. forty-five years later. 
The landscape was not at all what I expected- but a true sign of times to come.  There were no San buildings standing. The manicured lawns were in disarray. The trees were wild and untrimmed.  It was a statement. The canvas  was washed in an oceanic blue. Broad, strong strokes of blue. .it was striking and bold in design and colour!
Ethyl had  a unique insight into the future and painted what she felt! It was a spirit painting of sorts…This was not what I had ordered. .  It was a creation of her own making . She was a very sensitive soul. 
The images were bold and wild and free.
Yes, I still treasure that vibrant painting!

Ethel was my friend of 57 years . She was the first person I met in Canada. She came with a fresh bunch of flowers from her garden.
We had countless times camping and fishing 
A lot of fun times 
Ethel was well known for her hospitality. Many people sat in her kitchen with a drink in their hands and much laughter. 
Ethel asked Jesus to be her savior many years ago. We can know she is in Jesus arms. Finally loved and cared for. She really missed her family’s love and care in her end days . But now her every need is met and she is happy 
All her hurts and tears wiped away

Deepest condolences from myself, James and Jessica. Ethel was the most witty, kind and intelligent woman I had the pleasure of knowing, she could always make us laugh no matter the conversation.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Oh my dear dear friend . We will all miss you so much. We had some real great times together. May you RIP you beautiful soul. I wish we had that visit next week that we talked about last week.
