

Linnen, Gary Leonard (1945-2011) passed away July 11, 2011. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Louise; daughter Carrie (John) Jackson; son Corey (Mary) Linnen; and granddaughter Melia Linnen. He is also survived by his sister Gail (Cliff) Smith; brother Ken (Sue) Linnen; sister in laws Josie (Wayne) Linnen and Helen Sebastian; brother in law Joe (Sherry) Ziegler, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Gary grew up on the family farm near Francis, SK, attended school in Francis, and married his high school sweetheart Louise Ziegler, in 1966. They lived and worked on the farm until 1969 when they moved to Regina. Gary spent most of his working career with the City of Regina as a building inspector and by law enforcement officer, where he enjoyed the camaraderie of his fellow inspectors. He retired from the city in 2005. Gary continued an active retirement in the family farm until his passing. This love of agriculture transformed into gardening in the city where he especially enjoyed growing tomatoes. He was very proud of the accomplishments of his children in both recreational and professional pursuits, and his granddaughter Melia was the apple of his eye. A Memorial Service for Gary will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 3:00PM at Victoria Avenue Funeral Home Chapel, 2080 Victoria Avenue East, Regina, Sk. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Gary’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan 279-3rd Avenue N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8.
