Helen is predeceased by her parents Leopold and Marie Schneider; and her ten older siblings John (Olga), Leo (Welma), Gustav, Alma (Fernie) Manz, Olga (Fred) Gruber, Fred (Erika) Eric, Elfreida (Carl) Wolfe, Louis (Larry), and Herbert. Duke’s family: Johann & Emma Neher, Ernest (Olga), Elizabeth (Christian) Brenner, George (Julia), William (Mary, Dorothy), Ann (John) Johnson, John (Alice) and Walt Alex; as well as Marianne’s partner Don Delton. Helen was born in the Wheatwyn district south of Markinch, SK and grew up on the family farm. She briefly worked in Regina. Upon marrying Duke, they took up farming north of Markinch. An opportunity became available in 1964 for Duke to become a grain buyer so they moved into the company house in Markinch. In 1976 they purchased Southey Agencies and moved to Southey where they lived until moving to Regina in 2013. Helen worked hard all her life and enjoyed her gardens and flowers. Spending time with family and friends was very important to her. Duke and Helen spent many good times on the dance floor. She was a kind and caring person, a gracious host, and always tried to put others needs before her own. She loved spending time with her grandkids (especially the many card games). A Celebration of Life will be held at Victoria Avenue Funeral Home, 2080 Victoria Avenue East, Regina, SK on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. Private family interment to follow at a later date.
