Ian passed away unexpectedly on January 6, 2016 at 49 years of age. He was greatly loved by his wife of 14 years, Tamara, and his three children Brayden, Garrett and Cassandra who he cherished every small moment with. He also leaves behind his mother Ellen, brother Rusty Durant (Laura), Parents-in-law June and Paul Norvila, Brother-in-laws Terry (Patricia) and Erle (Christel), nieces Amanda (Ben) and Zose, nephews Gunnar and Gus.
Ian grew up in Saskatoon attending both elementary and High school before obtaining a Diploma from SIAST. He was employed at SED Systems in Saskatoon where he met his wife in 1995. They fell in love over quiet moments, ballroom dancing and walking the dog. He later earned a Degree in Electrical Engineering from the U of S and moved to Regina where he was began employment with SaskPower in 1999. Ian and Tamara married in 2001 and have built a life in Regina with their three children while he continued his career with SaskPower. With SaskPower Ian worked hard every day to contribute his knowledge and talents to advance the company and his leadership will be greatly missed.
Family was always important to Ian. He was very involved and spent numerous hours coaching hockey and taking his kids to their numerous activities including music, swimming, dancing and bowling. He always had a special place in his heart for each of his children and always made them feel unique and loved. Memories made on a recent family vacation to Florida will always be cherished. As summarized by one of his children, “He was all in all a great guy.”
A Funeral Service will be held at Holy Family Parish, 1021 McCarthy Blvd., Regina, SK on Monday January 18th, 2016 at 10:00 am.
