After 99 years of great life, we are saddened to announce the loss of our husband, father and paw on March 12/2026. Irvin was born on October 23rd, 1926 on a farm south of Lemberg, Saskatchewan.
Irvin is predeceased by his father Gustav, mother Hilda, sister Olga Greening (Sam), sister Viola Kraft (Alfred), & brother in law Ray Pollock.
Irvin is survived by his beloved wife Alice of 68 years, and 3 children. Son, Dennis Arndt of Vancouver, BC. Daughter, Shelly Steinhubl (Willy) of Pasqua Lake, SK; and son, Scott Arndt (Joann) of Regina, SK. 4 grand-daughters who he loved dearly and were his “dolly’s”; Kylie Steinhubl of Regina, SK, Rebecca Lipinski (Landon) of Cupar, SK, Jade Grad-Arndt (Ashton) of Regina, SK & Ella Grad-Arndt (Arnau) of London, England. 6 great grandchildren- Tyson, Ava-Jean, Gabriel, Vyola, Tommy, Grey & Cohen.
Irvin was a man that could never sit still; a successful farmer, worked at Taylor Motors as the “shuttle driver” and when there were no people to drive around he worked in the back cleaning the cars. He wasn’t ready to “throw in the towel and retire” so he was hired as a contractor for Access Communications and worked in the warehouse until he retired at the age of 90 years! He loved going “south” for the winters, and travelling with his wife to places like Arizona, New Zealand, Caribbean & Hawaii.
If Irvin wasn’t watching his favorite dolly’s play ringette or cheerleading, he would be at home watching the Blue Jays or the sports channel for the next hockey game. Irvin was a man of many talents, especially with his way around the dance floor at polka dances. If Alice was tired, he would go find another lady and take her for a dance. Don’t forget about the long nights playing and enjoying music from the 6 Fat Dutchmen.
Private Interment will be held at a later date. Thank you to the staff at RGH-ER, RGH-6A & a brief 6 hour period at Wascana Rehab Hospice (especially Tara, LPN).
