Jason Troy Pass, age 44, of Regina, Saskatchewan passed away Saturday, May 16 succumbing after a hard fought battle with leukemia for the past four and a half months. He will be dearly missed by his wife Danielle Pass and mother Martha Pass who were by his side through this entire battle. Jason was born on December 13, 1970 in St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon. 3 days later he and his mom moved back to Regina to be closer to family. Growing up, in addition to his mom, Jason had many positive role models who were important guides for him in his life including his grandparents Wilma and Arthur Pass, “Gramma Kekran” Isabelle McEachern, Uncle Will, and Uncle Dick. These positive influences helped Jason to excel in school and he went on to obtain an engineering degree at the University of Regina convocating in 1993. He was so proud to be an engineer and was always quick to point out how much engineers improve the world. Jason was a “gatherer” of people and had many close friendships through all of his life – far too many to mention by name but you know who you are. He enjoyed many hours with friends watching movies, playing board games, drinking craft beer, and travelling. No matter what activity, when with friends and family, he had lots of great conversation, provided his strong opinions, challenged people to look at all the facts and sides of an issue and to always strive to do better. He always had a good time when with friends and you could always tell where he was in the room because of his loud infectious laugh. Jason and his mom were an inseparable duo through all of his life. They were very important to each other and he was never afraid to be affectionate with his mom even in front of his friends. He was the best thing that ever happened to his mom and will be missed more than words can say. Jason met Danielle in 1997 and after 6 years together, they were married in 2003. He was a loving husband, a good listener, a true partner, and her best friend. She is heartbroken at the loss of her wonderful husband and is forever enriched for having known him. In his battle with leukemia Jason spent a lot of time in unit 3B of the Pasqua Hospital and appreciated the care provided by the team of staff. Memorial donations can be made to the Friends of 3B through the Hospitals of Regina Foundation.
